My Students

My students are from rural NC, and they chose to attend our college prep charter school. Our students are creative, enthusiastic, and inquisitive. Even though they may come to school with a lot of baggage, they continuously strive to get the best education they can. They believe education is one key to success.

My students have a hunger for meaningful hands-on experiences.

When they walk into my science class, you can see the wonder in their minds, curious about where science will take them next.

My Project

The raised bed gardens are going to be used to help our students learn how plants grow and how to grow their own plants. They will be challenged by learning appropriate techniques to help their plants reach maximum growth while being outside.

This is a great outdoor learning experience for students who tend to stay indoors too much.

My students will have the opportunity to grow their own food in these gardens. A lot of students think all of their food comes from a store. It is great to see how excited they get when they realize that they can grow their own at school. This project will also work with our PE classroom by helping the students learn about healthy eating.
