Help me give my students a voice in their learning! The Qball is a wireless microphone ball that can be safely thrown around the room and amplify student responses!
Eighteen energetic boys come together each day, learning through diverse instructional strategies including action-based learning, arts infusion, and technology-based learning to obtain their maximum potential. They love to move and thrive when using technology and the arts. These students attend a public, Title I school. They have been put together based on teacher and parent recommendations, learning styles, and academic needs; they are both high and low-level learners.
These boys are eager to learn and put forth their best efforts when they are able to use their strengths on a consistent basis; movement and active learning strategies.
They take ownership of their learning, as seen through technology and arts-infused instruction. They need a support system that sees their energy as an advantage for teaching and not a disadvantage. These 20 boys love to please and genuinely care about their success at such a young age. Our school is an arts-infused school that has greatly improved academic success!
My Project
The Qball is an innovative microphone that amplifies the students' voices in a ball! The students will be more eager to share ideas, responses, and participate in conversations with a fun, safe ball that can be tossed around.
The Qball will be used in all lessons, as it adds a level of engagement in student participation.
We will be able to ask and answer questions, and share ideas during lessons while hearing our voices amplified over the Smartboard! As students respond, they can toss the ball to a classmate to share their ideas or responses. This is a great way to engage reluctant participants and encourage them to "raise their voice" and be an active member of class discussions!
