Help me give my students the opportunity to collaborate and play with each other on rainy recess days. This will take away the need for the students to want to work independently on technological devices.

My Students
I teach in a Title I school in South Carolina where every student receives free or reduced breakfast and lunch. The ability for some of my students to be able to come to class prepared for the school day can be extremely challenging for them. Everyday a student comes without the necessary supplies in order for them to be successful for the day. I do not want to have my students worrying about where their supplies and resources are coming from when I know they have bigger issues to worry about at home.
My students have been phenomenal hard-workers this year and we want to keep the momentum of teaching and learning by incorporating current event articles into our learning day.
My Project
South Carolina can have unpredictable weather. There are times when it is rainy or too cold for the students to go outside. I want my students to be able to play/ collaborate with each other through a variety of board games rather than having to you technological devices. We are asking for games like bingo, trouble, monopoly, uno, and so much more that my students voted on!
These board games will give the students choices as well as appeal to a variety of social and communication skills with their peers.
