Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! All of them are bilingual or are learning to be. Some of them have three languages. These kiddos are the future adults I want to be caring for the world. My students come from all over to attend our dual language Spanish/English school and their families are diverse in culture.
My students are curious about the world around them and so eager to learn.
They are a dynamic, interesting, and interested group of young people who love to learn about life.
My Project
In our little corner of the country, well, it rains A LOT. On those rainy days, teachers and students together groan when we hear over the PA "The next recess will be held indoors". Teachers hate it because the class is chaos. Students hate it because they are bored, bored, BORED with the same old choices for Rainy Day Recess.
Help me make Rainy Day Recess fun with brain stimulating and fine motor developing toys that my students will love to play with!
We can bring some physical play indoors with a hopscotch game, and my students can practice fine motor and social skills both with stacking and balancing games. They can even practice engineering with Gears and Gizmos.
The chaos of indoor recess could be mitigated with your help. Busy children are happy children, and happy children aren't likely to look for something...else...to do. Your donation will help my classroom to be a more fun and peaceful place.
