Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and many from challenging family situations. In spite of this, our students come to school eager to learn and give their best every day. School is a safe place where they learn all of the skills necessary to thrive.
Our school is a Title I school, and many of our families face many financial difficulties such as poverty, unemployment, and homelessness to name a few, that limit their ability to contribute toward extras at school.
My Project
Playing games on a rainy day is an opportunity for student learning. The strategy and logic games I have requested, including Klask and Guess Who, are a mix of old and new games to stimulate in my students "outside the box" thinking, recognizing patterns, and solving multi-step complex problems.
When the rain comes and students spend lots of time indoors, having engaging, entertaining, and educational games is a necessity.
Many of my students prefer to play individual games or to play 1:1 games. These games will allow all students to challenge themselves and their friends while learning and having fun on a cold, stormy day.
