Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am looking to help elementary students understand the diverse and unique habitats from around the world. With these items students will be able to learn and make connections to the rainforests of South America, as well as the importance of life on the forest floor. The terrariums come to life will help me make real tangible connections during science, social studies, and other subject areas.

My students that are stuck in a cold Wisconsin winter will be able to have a tropical rainforest right in their classroom.

Students will be able to learn about the adaptations it takes to live in an arboreal habitat in the flooded rainforest of the South America.

Furthermore, they will be able to learn what happens to fallen leaves and the decomposers that live on the forest floor.
