I am a first year teacher, looking to give my students the best possible learning experience! Creating a classroom community is very important to my teaching style. I want all my students to feel part of the community, because this gives them a natural incentive to participate.
My students are a very hard working group of young children.
My school is committed to empowering our students to meet high academic standards, lead ethical lives, and demonstrate responsible citizenship. It is a small school that aims to incorporate the community around it to maximize learning opportunities.
My Project
Each morning, I like to gather my whole class on the carpet for our morning meeting. I feel this creates a more effective classroom community and allows me to connect with my students more personally than if they were seated at their desks. This time is very important to my teaching philosophy. In addition, this rug would be used other times throughout my instruction including number talks and class read alouds.
This rug will help me create a warm classroom community for all my students!
It will be a great addition to our classroom and will help the students feel like a member of our special classroom community! Additionally, I am requesting donations for stools for my small group table. These stools will help me diversify my instruction and allow me to meet my students’ needs in a smaller group setting. These stools would be an amazing addition to my classroom!
