My Students

Our elementary school is located in the city of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The school serves a diverse population of students ranging from Kindergarten through Grade Five.

My students are a very special group of creative, talented, intelligent, fifth graders.

Students work well individually, as well as with their peers in small group settings, and many will evaluate one another's work in a positive and constructive manner. A love for learning is evident in our classrooms. Students want to please their teachers and work hard to achieve high classroom social and academic expectations.

My Project

This colorful, comfortable rug will not only add to the decor in the classroom, helping to make it an inviting learning environment, but it will provide another flexible seating option for students.

It is a joy to see students comfortable and engaged in their learning.

Providing choices, such as an appealing rug to stretch out on or to sit with their peers during instruction and/or read aloud time has become a necessity in my classroom.

Students quickly realize what seating option works best for them as an individual. They demonstrate responsibility in taking the initiative to utilize flexible seating if needed.
