Bioscience students have a passion for science and engineering. They love to experience the world hands on and head first and process what they have experienced through class discussions. Our 9th grade physics class is really focusing on engineering and sustainability this year and all projects and classwork will have a component of each embedded into them. Our location in central Phoenix, Arizona, is a great place for them to see the urgent need for sustainable choices and changes and students are focused on making their community a better place.
My Project
Coding is a 21st century skill that will be in incredibly high demand in the future workforce.
These SPRK Spheros are an excellent way to capture the imagination of beginning coders.
Beyond learning a valuable skill there is a direct link between a student learning to code and increased math proficiency.
Every year all of the physics students from across district go to an amusement park to compete in STEM competitions and one of the competitions involves coding these robots to complete an obstacle course. We haven't been able to compete in this in the past but would like to show the other schools what we are capable of. Last year we got last place, this year we will be number one!
