Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each kindergarten student that enters my class is a unique learner. My students come from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds. 42.8% of our citizens are speakers of a non-English language, and my students bring their rich diversity and love of learning into the classroom everyday!
Our elementary school celebrated its 90th anniversary last year, and our ties to the community are very strong.
It is truly a neighborhood school, and we take pride in helping our families in and out of the classroom.
My Project
These fun reading games will be used in our daily literacy centers. They will help my students be more excited to work with their letters, letter sounds, CVC words, and writing. The games are multi-sensory and will help engage my students. Students sometimes get bored of paper pencil activities, and these games use a variety of different materials (i.e. tiles, dice, dry erase markers, and alphabet cards).
These reading games will improve my students' school lives by adding exciting hands-on activities to our regular school routine.
We will use these games everyday to support learning in literacy. The games will also help develop my students' fine motor skills by requiring them to manipulate different items, such as dice and dry erase markers. My students will love these games!
