My Students

Our school is an urban high school. It is the largest traditional public school located in our city. We have 1600 students and the student population is highly diverse - 45% Hispanic; 34% African American; 16% white; and 5% Asian. I am proud to teach such a diverse group of talented students! Our students are college bound and we are actively working to provide them a well rounded high school experience which includes rigorous academics and a broad range of extracurricular activities, including tennis.

My Project

Tennis racquets allow players to compete at the high school level. The current inventory of racquets includes out-of-date equipment in poor condition. The enjoyment of tennis is enhanced when players have appropriate equipment!

Our high school tennis players are dedicated to learning tennis and have shown a commitment to the sport during their high school years.

Initially, we were fortunate to receive equipment donations from area racquet clubs and recreational players. However, this equipment has aged and many players are ready for improved equipment. These racquets will help our players transition from beginner to intermediate levels and experience quality play.
