My Students
I teach at a charter school. My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our school is proud to be an open enrollment school with an A rating. The students work hard to reach their goals and I enjoy offering them every opportunity to explore the world around them.
Social Studies isn't always students' favorite subject, so I make it my mission to change that!
In order to make Social Studies exciting and come alive I need to have a variety of tricks in my teacher tool bag.
My Project
I have selected Race to the White House Game that will help me engage my students in social studies. These games give my students the opportunity to simulate the experiences of running for president. They will also experience the election process and what it is like to be the President of the United States. These games will allow my students to be engaged in the learning process and work with other students to practice civic skills. These games will allow my students to practice the grade level standards they will be tested on. They may even forget they are learning!
