My students need Science magazines of current events, work organizer, and markers to write on the magazines to support their Common Core standards.
Many of my students will never get to Cape Canaveral to see the space shuttle at NASA.
I have 18 Title 1 students in my classroom.
9 of these students are ESOL, which means their English is limited. Visuals are an excellent tool in helping ESOL students gain language knowledge. Many of them are on free and reduced lunch. They are not going to be able to afford a trip to see the space shuttle.
These resources will change my student's lives for the better by allowing them to gain some knowledge that they can keep about Science. The activity that I will be able to do is let them go to a Science Center where they can read and gain some experience of what is currently going on in the world of technology and science. They will be able to write on their own magazine, instead of having to share like they do their reading books. They will be learning about Common Core standards.
Many of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
They do not have the resources to be exposed to technology and experiences that involve science. Please consider funding this project. You will be helping a kid go "out of this world." Thanks!
