Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Marathon is a small town set in the Big Bend region of Texas and is surrounded by green desert and mountains. Our kids have big hearts and a strong sense of excited wonder about learning and discovering.
How can we empower these young minds with the tools they need to explore the basic fabric of the real world?
The goal is to foster a sense of wonder and excitement through problem based learning, coding and robotics. How can we move the robot from here to there? How can the robot move an object? Dash and Dot to the rescue!
My Project
Dash and Dot will be a part of STEAM learning in my classroom. The robots will be incorporated in my Science workstation and will be available for open use with class ipads.
Innovative ideas combined with challenges will give the Kinder and 1st grade students problem solving skills for the 21st century.
Coding the robots to follow certain instructions and complete multi-step processes will teach the kids to persevere as they problem solve with the robots. The wonder pack will help create fun challenges to solve with simple coding from the kids.
Discovery and exploration is the heart of our Science workstation and Dash and Dot will be the perfect mascots to cheer on our learning! Go STEAM!
