Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
― Benjamin Franklin
I am the proud teacher of twenty-two enthusiastic third grade magnet students.
They are inquisitive, creative, and full of energy. They also enjoy working in collaborative groups. My students attend school in a low income area. The entire school is on a free breakfast and lunch program.
My Project
My students enjoy working on projects, whether it be individual projects or group projects. They use the HP printer to publish their stories or print pictures for their projects. We are out of black ink and desperately need more. We have a paper trimmer in the teachers' workroom, but a 20 inch paper trimmer will be such a valuable tool in the classroom. The children can decide how they want their poster boards trimmed or determine the size of the paper for their books.
My students and I have been spoiled by the generous donations of colored ink for our HP printer.
We have been able to produce professional projects that the students are so proud to share and display. The paper trimmer will allow me to cut paper in the classroom so my students can give me specific instructions and their projects can be to their specification. They can take ownership of their work.
