Reading, for children, can be much more enjoyable when technology is involved! As their teacher, my job is to ignite this interest and build upon their love of reading!
My students are fourth graders in a high poverty elementary school.
I have 24 students in my classroom with a wide range of abilities, needs, and concerns. Even though my students may deal with struggles at home, they come to school every day ready and willing to be part of our family and learn what they can. They strive to be "The Best They Can Be" each and every day!
My Project
With these two Nook Simple Touch E-Readers, my students will enjoy reading on a deeper level. They love that they can read the same book I am reading aloud, have a book club using the Nooks, and being able to purchase the book they want in a flash! When I purchase one copy of a Nook Book, it can be downloaded on all of our Nooks. What a wonderful way for teachers to get more books in students' hands. My students would be able to read, read, and keep reading all of the books they love. If they find an author or series that they fall in love with, I can purchase the next book quickly for them without having to go to the book store or library. This is a teacher and students dream!
