Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are some of the most respectful, compassionate, and diligent young people that I have ever met. They devote their time and energy to making other people happy and to making our school a better community.

Many of my 5th graders have big dreams despite coming from low-income families, having special needs, or learning English as a second language.

They persevere through so many challenges and still remain kind and hard-working individuals. They deserve every opportunity that students from higher income districts are given.

My Project

My project contains felt tennis balls for the bottoms of students' chairs. These balls will cut the sound of 30 students moving their chair simultaneously when they are transitioning.

This project will make transitioning much more efficient which will save me more time for teaching.

Some of my special ed students are sensitive to loud noises and when the class scrapes their chairs all at once, the special ed students hold their ears and cannot complete transitioning until the other students have finished pushing in their chairs and lined up.

I believe this simple request will do wonders in our classroom!
