Mrs. Wright from Saint Louis MO is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 10 noise cancelling ear muffs that will help them block outside noise so they can concentrate while working.

I teach students in a special education Resource Room. They all have learning and/or emotional disabilities that include other health impairments (usually due to ADHD), autism, specific learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, and intellectual disabilities. Their instruction is individualized and tailored to their needs, so we often have different groups engaged in small group instruction at the same time.
Most of the students in my classroom struggle to focus and concentrate, so when students in different groups hear instruction being delivered to other groups while they are trying to work independently, they often become distracted.
Many of my students use strategies like reading aloud or counting out loud while doing math problems. While these are great strategies that really work for them, they can also cause difficulties for other students.
We need a solution for how to provide a quiet environment while still allowing students to use strategies that work for them. One thing that I've heard that can be very helpful are Noise Cancelling Ear Muffs.
The use of Noise Cancelling Ear Muffs can help students get the quiet environment they need to fully concentrate on their work.
The ear muffs block exterior noises so that children are less distracted and better able to concentrate. According to research, this improves their academic performance, and according to schools that issue their students with earmuffs, the results are fantastic. I would love to give my students the opportunity to be more productive and increase their time on task, which will in turn increase their learning.
