Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class of first graders are ready and eager to learn. Our class is a strong community that enjoys getting to know each other and synergizing. We have a lot to learn this year but each student is excited to keep growing academically.
These six and seven-year-old children are at the perfect age to experience how amazing learning can be.
I hope to foster that love for learning and knowledge by providing them with the materials they need to help them reach their potential.
My Project
My students lacking an important accessory for our technology; headphones. Our classroom is lucky to have been given a small set of iPads and computers. This technology exposure is useful to our students, especially to those who do not have any technology at home. The students are eager to use all forms of technology but are unable to, due to our constant search for quality and durable headphones.
Many of the students come from low income homes and cannot afford to buy headphones of their own to be used in the classroom.
With 20 young students using the headphones weekly, durability is key. A charging station is a useful tool for our classroom management to ensure that our technology is ready for the kids everyday. We are also in need of a charging station to keep out technology ready for the students everyday.
