My students need 6 wireless mice to accompany their Chromebooks. These will empower students to complete tasks more efficiently. Also, we are in need of some additional pencils.
My students are eager to learn each day in our 7th grade classroom, despite the fact that we are Title 1 School. Every day we start our class with the African Proverb, "I Am Because We Are." Our students have challenges, but I firmly believe that they each have the potential to persevere.
One way for the students to persevere, is have access to more technology and help them be aware of 21st Technological skills that will be needed.
Not every student comes from a home where they can purchase a Chromebook; having them in class will give them opportunities that they otherwise might not have experienced.
In addition to using them for my Language Arts classes, I want to allow my inspiring poets to have access as well to publish their pieces and display their creativity to the world.
My Project
We most recently have acquired a set of 6 Chromebooks which will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. Students can have better access to our Google Classroom, research information, and improve their skills using technology. Most recently, we have started our Argumentative Unit, and students have been introduced to Hyperdocs, Nearpod and FlipGrid. Having mice will empower students to work more effectively.
Using these mice will also enable students to become more fluent with both typing and how to use hardware related to technology used in the 21st Century.
Students will also be able to better highlight texts, use various websites with ease, and students will be able to be more confident in their Chromebook skills.
