Help me give my students the opportunity for a quiet working environment through the use of earbuds and efficient modeling through the use of a document camera.
I teach special education with the sweetest bunch of students. This year I will have eight of my students return. Many of my students are economically disadvantaged often living with family members other than their own parents. This leads to low self esteem and we want them to be confident.
My students are in 7-8th grades which is such an instrumental time in a child's life.
They are hard working and loving children who deserve the opportunity to be successful.
My Project
The use of technology in the classroom has increased dramatically in recent years. My students are lucky enough to have Ipads, Chromebooks, and laptops to use. However, many times they are on different websites and programs. Testing is also another time that students need to have earbuds. Many of my students have a reader accommodation and need earbuds in order to take the test during class time.
My students have varying ability levels and are doing many different things all at the same time.
In order to keep our working environment quiet, students need earbuds. A less distracting classroom enables students to focus and understand material.
Due to decreased classroom time this year and another decrease coming next year, it is increasingly important to be efficient when modeling for students. Through the use of a document camera I will be able to quickly model student assignments giving them a visual as well as an auditory means of learning.
