This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school where approximately 84% of the students are from low-income households. Many families are faced with the decisions of paying bills, providing clothing and food, over purchasing school supplies for their children.
Many students spend more time at school than they do with their own parents at home.
To them, I'm more than just their teacher, I'm a nurse, counselor, therapist, mother, father, aunt, grandmother, friend, confidant, and much more.
My Project
With this printer, I'll be able to print off practice worksheets, for students, to reinforce the assignments taught in class. Students will also be able to instantly print off published writing assignments without waiting on me to retrieve their paper from the copier located in the teacher's lounge.
Finally, this copier will give me the ability to print off colored student certificates, testing results, and other data to discuss with students instantly.
No longer will I have to use valuable work time walking to and from the copier to pick up black and white copies.
