My Students

My kindergarten students are wonderful children wanting to learn to read, write, and solve problems. They come from low-income households. However, they have the mindset to want to do their best for their families.

They are a group ready to learn from music and hand-on activities.

They love center time, recess, and music class. They love the hand-on activities such as sorting foods in by shape or chasing the gingerbread man around the school and eating gingerbread man cookies.

My Project

I will use the dry erase paddles for students to practice letter formation, spelling, drawing shapes, and solving math problems during circle time. If the students have the dry erase paddles, I can easily assess the children's knowledge. I will then know who needs more one on one help on that skill.

I will also use them in small groups for students to practice sight words and spelling.

We will use the pencils to help with practicing words and math skills. Students will use the pencils to draw and solve addition or subtraction problems. Students will practice and become better at each skill.
