Quench the Thirst for Education

Help me give my students their own personal water bottles. Our school provides filled disposable water bottles that kids can refill but sometimes they recycle them and forget to reuse. Also to help reduce plastic waste.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a 4th grade bilingual teacher and teach in a Title I school. My students come from low income families who want to strive to be their very best. Academics is a big part of their world; some will be the first to graduate from high school in their family. To reach this goal, I inspire them to shine like a star every day and share with them my story which is very similar to theirs. They have limited income which doesn't allow for them to buy supplies or snacks they may need to work from home during these new norms of learning. They are very special to me and are all unique. Please help me, help them.

My Project

Our school provides our students with water bottles on a daily basis since our water fountains are closed due to COVID. However, sometimes my students will recycle the water bottle and grab another, which isn't a problem, but they love having them for continued use and being able to have drink all day while in class.

I feel if they had their own personalized water bottle we could help eliminate plastic waste, and if they could refill their own water bottles at school, they wouldn't throw away their own water bottle.

Thank you.
