My students come from many different parts of the world. We have at least seven different countries and languages represented in my class. Unfortunately, they come from very poor homes. Lots of my kids are refugees that come from war-torn countries. Most of my students speak very little English and have never been to school before. We are also located in a very poor part of San Diego.
My students have been quarantined because of Covid 19 since early March of 2020. They need snacks to keep them energized through online learning.
Most of my students can't afford to pay rent let alone buy any snacks to keep their tummies full.
During these tough economic times my students and their families need any help with food that they can get. Providing them with some special snacks that they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise I think they will have more energy to stay focused and alert during our Zoom classes.
