I teach third grade at Kensington Elementary School in Georgetown, SC. I have 19 students, including one English as a Second Language student. There is a need in my classroom to give my students even more opportunity to practice proper reading fluency. Studies have shown that with improved reading fluency, reading comprehension will also improve. I am requesting six Quantum Pad Learning Systems and carrying cases for my classroom. With the use of these Learning Systems, students will have even more opportunity to become a more successful reader. Students will be even more willing to read books independently given the fact that they can use this system to help them with difficult words. My vision is to be able to not only have the Quantum Pad Learning System available to my students at school but I would also like to have the systems set up on a check-out system for the week-ends. Having access to the Quantum Pad Learning Systems at home may encourage my students to read at home together with their families.
