Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are so special and they need to be reminded of that! We are from a small town that has experienced its own amount of tragedy. Students need to be motivated and reminded that they can make a difference and they are the future.
The students are eighth graders in a small town in California.
My students have mostly grown up together. They are in a junior high school of fewer than 500 students. These students have all been through the same school together since Kindergarten. They know each other, they trust each other and they love each other. It's commonly said that "there is something special about a small town." We truly have that.
My Project
My Leadership students are always looking for ways to go above and beyond. They cover many different areas of the school from recycling, entertainment, planning, etc. They have taken an interest in creating videos to promote different activities and events around our campus.
This new laptop would give my students a huge advantage in creating quality videos to show their student body.
We would be able to edit videos with a laptop that is designed to do this for us. We will be able to promote dances, sporting events, edit ASB videos, etc. My students will able to learn the ins and outs of how to edit and create these types of videos which will give them more skills to carry into their future.
