Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them for the day. They are 4th graders in a school with no funding available for "extras."
My students are excited to learn and enjoy figuring out how everyday items work.
They are creative and great problem-solvers. My students like to work together to create solutions for everyday problems. They utilize critical thinking skills in order to successfully achieve their goals.
My Project
I would love for my students to have access to the Qball microphone. I have many students who are either very shy or struggle to speak loud enough so the class can hear their responses.
The Qball microphone is tossed from teacher to student or student to student as students are participating in the classroom.
Because the ball is a microphone, even the students with the quietest voices will have their voices heard when they are participating using the Qball.
This is better than a regular microphone because throwing it from student to student promotes student engagement and it is better than a ball or other tossable object because you can hear students who don't speak very loudly.
