My students are preschoolers with moderate to severe autism and other special needs, including Speech and Language Impairment. These students come from a large district and over 80% receive free or reduced-price lunch. Parental involvement varies but it is my goal to help all students regardless of home life. My students backgrounds are very diversified.
My students are kind, curious, and bright children who love to learn.
I am excited to teach them skills to better promote their learning and prepare them for an inclusive setting for kindergarten.
My Project
Puzzles will be used to help children develop fine motor strength, perseverance, and problem solving skills. They will be placed in several of our learning areas within the classroom to correlate with the current theme.
My students enjoy helping each other put puzzles together! Puzzles encourage using language, positional words, reasoning, and social/emotional practice. Puzzles are a great way to get that little engineer to explore their skills while others can explore their writing. We are in desperate need of new and colorful puzzles that have all of the pieces. Many of ours are extremely outdated and incomplete.
