Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom consists of students who are determined to learn and strive for success. They are interested in "typical" teenage interests such as anime and Pop-Its. And we can't forget... Spongebob!
Our students represent different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
As a class, the students face challenges accessing the grade-level curriculum without sufficient supports and resources. These students require differentiated instruction and always put forth their best effort! Whether it's games like Kahoot or our Friday Community Circles, these students are present and deserve the opportunity to be successful.

Puzzles, handcrafts, coloring and other meditative activities have long been thought to decrease feelings of anxiety and increase mental well-being.
So no, puzzles aren't only for quarantine.
This project was designed BY students FOR students. There are times during the day where the students have completed all of their assignments. When this happens, students are given time to have a break. This also happens during our long block days. However, during their break times, students immediately go for the chrome book. After a LONG year on Zoom, the students would benefit from a break of their screens.
I asked the students what they would like and this is what they described:
-Puzzles,
-Card Games,
-Brain Teasers,
-Activity kits such for art and jewelry
As a treat, they also requested snacks to start a classroom store. With your help, we can take a break from the screens and keep our brain stimulated!
