My students in grade eleven are hard-working, multi-tasking-style learners. They balance academics, athletics, and social commitments with after school and weekend jobs. They range from high to low socioeconomic levels as well as a broad range of learning levels. Their ethnic backgrounds are diverse; foreign exchange students share the halls of our school.
My students are winners in the classroom, standouts on the field and court, and compassionate future leaders of our community.
They work together with faculty members to achieve greatness each and every day.
My Project
My students will use the speakers to listen to the audio of learning materials while relaxing in a corner nook. The wireless mouse can be used to start and stop the audio from the smartboard. Students will be encouraged to spend time at the end of the class working puzzles and playing games at the table together rather than using it to be on their phones. A comfy corner chair will provide a place to read for the student who needs less screen time but who isn't conducive to group gameplay.
My students need options that limit their small screen (cell phone and Chromebook) time.
They need to put the phones down, step away from the screen, and interact with a classmate or two.
In this pandemic year, when remote learning has been instituted on a number of occasions, students need less screen time and more human interaction every chance they can get. We are requesting the materials to help us accomplish this.
