This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students truly enjoy their time in challenge class. Each and every one of my fourth graders light up my day! They love to come to challenge class and get involved with activities that enrich their learning. My students are academically gifted and love a challenge! They are very intrigued by cursive handwriting and are teaching themselves the best that they can. I can't wait to see them every day because I never know what they will create or imagine!
We receive Title I funds for our students because two out of three of them are economically disadvantaged.
This doesn't stop them from thinking outside the box and using their creativity whenever possible!
My Project
Cursive writing is a lost art that is no longer being taught in the academic classroom. As a challenge teacher, my class allows the students to learn things that will help stretch their brains to new lengths. Learning cursive writing and practicing in the work books daily will allow them to sign their names to things, read cursive writing on historical documents as well as be able to have an extra avenue of penmanship. These cursive workbooks, practice books, and wipe off boards will give my students the extra practice needed to improve their cursive writing skills on a daily basis. This is an activity that my students are eager to dive into!
