My Project

In the beginning of November, I started my first "big girl" job as a pediatric occupational therapist! I am working at Therapeutic Playtime, an outpatient clinic, 3 days a week and working at a school, Sunrise School District, 2 days a week. As an occupational therapist in a school, I have to provide all of my own supplies, toys, and activities for the kids. The kids I see are in Kindergarten through 8th grade and I believe the best way to keep them engaged in occupational therapy is through play.

One of my favorite ways I've heard pediatric occupational therapy described is: Play is really the work of childhood.

I've graciously been gifted supplies from the previous OT at my school and have bought a few of my own, but I know that the kids I work with would love to get to do new activities and play with new games! I've asked each of my kids what their favorite games, colors, and animals are so that I could make a comprehensive list of activities for them.
