This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are the most incredible individuals I have ever come to know. My classroom is a self-contained special education classroom. Our school is a Title l School meaning the neighborhoods my students are coming from are the low income and poverty-stricken areas. My students have varying needs within the classroom whether that be physically, emotionally, or cognitively.

The students in my classroom do not get to experience many of the things others may have due to being in a Title l school.

They are given the materials they have when I buy stuff out of my own pocket or with the little we are given at the start of the year. Despite the challenges they have, these students can brighten any room and bring light to any situation. These students are going to change the lives of others!

My Project

My students are some of the greatest individuals I know. However, there are items they need in order to be successful in the classroom. My students need a sensory table and items to help meet their varying sensory needs within the classroom.

These items are going to help them meet their needs for stimulation through sensory and engage them more in the classroom.

My students will be so grateful for these items and to be able to use them for what they need to be used for. We are so grateful for everything we get to use and these items will be nothing short of used to their full potential!
