Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kids are most interested in the here and now! A world surrounded by iphones, PSPs, myspace, and pre-teen/teen pop-stars. I am a third grade, Special Education teacher working in a collaborative team teaching classroom. We teach third graders in a high-need, urban area in NY state.
With today's economy, everyone is counting the dollar signs. Education is no exception to the rule. We teachers, our parents, and students have also felt the struggle to supply our classrooms with the bare necessities, much less enriching our classes. It is very difficult for some of our parents to provide all of the basic supplies, let alone additional materials that could enrich the classroom and home front. Help us to provide currents events that interest our students and can create both a dialog between students, teachers, and parents, as well as a strong purpose to read about what is going on in the world around them.
TFK (Time for Kids) is a great resource for our students and our goals in this project. They can also serve as a springboard for independent research and projects for our students.
You can be the 'movers' and 'shakers' to keep our classroom as a springboard for inquiry, personal motivation, and connections between the world, home, and classrooms of our students. Don't let the economy affect the one thing that is should not in our youth- knowledge.

After August 15th of current school year, pricing will remain in effect but TIME For Kids reserves the right to prorate issue quantity and free gifts.
