This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Students at my school love to learn despite the challenges they face on a daily basis. We have a very unique school. We have students who are faced with homelessness, poverty, foster care, divorced parents, and frequent relocation. All students at my Title I school receive free breakfast and lunch, and school is a safe haven for many of my students. Our classrooms are safe havens for our community of learning. That has now CHANGED.
Students' lives have been greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic!
As a recent teacher of the year, My platform is to make my classroom a community. A community that supports all learners! I want to continue to strive to do this. I can do this by creating a warm, loving environment for students that will help them thrive academically during the COVID-19 pandemic. I want to purchase individual supplies and storage so that students are not sharing materials and can properly social distance while still learning. I also want to keep learning fun. By supplying games and hands-on activities to make sure students have fun learning. Keeping our classroom community, safe and fun is the goal!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a place in our community. In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
Our learning community needs these items to move forth in fourth.
The whiteboards and storage will be used to keep my students engaged in learning safely. The learning games will be used to keep students having fun while learning. The school looks different and feels different, students need more engaging supplies. Help me give that to them!
