My second graders are amazing young ladies and gentlemen. They are learning and growing everyday.
In our classroom we are not afraid to make mistakes, we give second chances, and we work through problems together as a team.
My students are creative, hardworking, and eager to please. They become very excited when they solve problems and accomplish their goals.
Our motto is "if you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn no one can stop you!"
My Project
I use flexible seating in my classroom. This is my second year with flex seating. Such a big change takes time. I would like to provide my students with more options, which is why I chose this project.
Flexible seating empowers students to control their own learning.
My students choose their seat each day. They decide where they can do their second grade best. Some of my students also need to change their seat during the day to meet their special needs.
When my students are comfortable, they are more focused and on task. There is also power in choice. They know that if they are not on task I will change their seat and they don’t want to lose the privilege of choosing where they are most comfortable sitting at that time.
