Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm lucky enough to work with students who want to learn and improve. I have a group of 24 sweeties, who want nothing more than to read! Out of my 24, I have 9 that aren't reading successfully yet. I'm always looking to change things up to help interest and motivate them with their education. I believe they all can learn, but it may look different.
I work with low income, migrant children who lack a lot of educational resources.
Out of my 24 students 17 are second language learners, and several students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD. Even with the challenges we face, they are reminded and they believe they "can do hard things."
My Project
Practice makes progress, right? So help me give my students the opportunity to get BETTER!! I have so many students who are reading far below grade level, and not enough reading books within their range to practice with. So the Step Into Reading series, and I Can Read series, from AKJ Education will definitely help my students practice their reading skills daily, with books that are targeted at their level.
These books, will be included in our class library, so students can read them everyday, but also will be used as a check out system so they have books at HOME to read!!
