Mr. Benoit from South Bend IN is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the opportunity to perform on their instruments to the best of their ability by helping out purchasing shoulder rests for string instrument players!

The students who come to my school are energetic and excited to learn. Offering them the best that my program has to offer is my top priority. These students have risen to every challenge given to them, and recently, they have tackled many new issues that have given them a new perspective on school and learning.
Every day, they face challenges that would make most people question their desire to even go to school, yet they continue onwards without looking back.
Despite dealing with issues of poverty and trauma outside of the classroom, my students continue to be a constant motivator to both myself and other teachers throughout the building!
The students in my String Orchestra class will be using school instruments to continue refining their performance skills while learning from home. An art such as music offers a great amount of personal expression, which can be a great outlet as students are dealing with situations at home and around the world during these difficult times. Having access to the right materials can make all the difference in the world. Teaching students to play violin and viola without a shoulder rest can result in a number of problems when playing an instrument, so having the correct materials can really encourage these students to engage with music even more.
