Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
They could be the next best-selling author!
I teach fourth grade to 31 students at a high-poverty school. Fourth grade is an important year for writing development and many of my students come to school unable to meet the writing standards. It is my goal to prepare them for a bright future and to ensure that they are proficient readers and writers.
Supplies are tight in this economy and many of my families cannot afford to send their child to school with paper and pencils, let alone extra things like the highlighters, note cards and folders that are needed to develop writing skills. I often fund projects out of my own pocket, but I'm not able to supply everything we need for a writer's workshop.
My students have the interest and ability - we just need the supplies! By donating toward the paper, pencils, highlighters, note cards, chart paper and markers that we need you are helping a generation of students put pen to paper and become the great writers I know they can be!
Thank you for your help! Your donation makes it possible for my students to express themselves through writing and prepares them for the future. I can't think of a better gift!
