Help me give my students under-desk bike pedals to keep their feet busy, privacy folders to help keep them focused and to be used for quiet and independent recording spaces, and headphones for use with their iPads!
My students are AMAZINGLY creative, tech-savvy, funny, creative, caring, and they just make me smile! Teaching is not always an "easy" job, but it's my students who help to make the job enjoyable and refreshing each and every day!
They are always up for a new adventure, or a new challenge, and they just go with the flow; isn't that like all kids pretty much, though?
They help me just as much as I help them, and as much as I am teaching them from day to day, they're teaching me more! I absolutely LOVE my students, and how lucky am I to be their teacher?!
My Project
Oh boy, do I have a busy class this year! I guess that's what 28 students, 17 of which are boys will do to a class! I wouldn't have it any other way though. With that being said, we have a definite need to get some extra energy out this year! Our classroom already utilizes flexible seating with wiggle cushions, wobble stools, floor pillows, rubber bands for the chairs, and even a classroom trampoline!
On a whim one day, I bought an under the desk set of bike pedals - talk about a "win" for the classroom!
My kiddos LOVE it, and I'd really like to be able to provide more for them to use! The pedals help to keep their feet busy while they are sitting and working at a desk/table space, and when they're seated and pedaling, they're not up and moving and talking... so, of course, I love the pedals, too! In our classroom, we share everything - so right now having to share 1 set of bike pedals is a little challenging for 28 students, so having some more would be amazing!
I'm also looking to add some privacy folders and headphones to our classroom supplies. We use Seesaw often, along with several other apps and websites, and the students are always asking to head to a quiet place in the library to record. Honestly, sometimes I forget who has left the classroom - shh... don't tell them I said that! With the privacy folders, they could quietly and independently record, work, listen, and just accomplish what they need to - and all within the comfort of our own classroom!
