My students need headphones, so they can listen to examples of fluent reading, in order to improve their own reading.

I teach students in a special education resource room. They all have learning and/or emotional disabilities that include other health impairments (usually due to ADHD), autism, specific learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, and intellectual disabilities. Their instruction is individualized and tailored to their needs, so we often have different groups engaged in small group instruction at the same time.
Most of the students in my classroom struggle to focus and concentrate, so when students in different groups hear instruction being delivered to other groups, while they are trying to work independently, they often become distracted.
My students need to listen to examples of fluent reading, so that they can improve their reading skills. We have one awesome program that allows students to listen to stories, read stories themselves, and then answer questions about what they read. We have another program that offers individualized literacy instruction to readers of all levels. What these programs share, is the need for headphones.
Since all of my students are on different levels and read different books at different times, headphones are essential to their success.
Right now, we have three pairs of headphones that have definitely seen better days. New headphones would help my students use their independent working time wisely, while small group instruction takes place in my classroom.
