My Students
Our school is small for a city school and often goes unnoticed! Our beautiful building is 105 years old and is tucked inside an older neighborhood. We do not receive any Federal money; however, our free lunch program serves over 65% of our students! Our school district is the largest in our state but so many schools around us have higher needs. This causes our school to go unnoticed.
I would love to offer our students books from award-winning lists, such as, Pura Belpre, Newbery, Caldecott, Goldfinch, and Iowa Children's Choice! Please help us purchase quality books, so we may have a well-balanced library!
My Project
Our library is missing the latest honor and award-winning books! Our community has been generous enough to donate student requested titles which included all kinds of wonderful and engaging books.
Now, I would like to give our students the opportunity to read books which have won honors and awards from a variety of cultures and organizations. We have not received funding or books from our own school district for a few years now. Therefore, I have compiled an order which includes titles from Caldecott, Newbery, Pura Belpre, Geisel, Iowa Children's Choice, Goldfinch, and Odyssey lists for 2020-21.
Together with our student-requested books, these award winning books will help balance our library inventory.
