I teach at a rural school where many of my students do not have the capability to be exposed to any form of technology outside of the classroom environment. It is imperative that all of my students are given the opportunity to explore the capabilities of technological advances in today's society. These tools will add to all of the technology we have in the classroom now.
Every child in my classroom has a strong desire to learn. They are lovable, energetic, and are constantly sharing their knowledge with each other.
My Project
The ultimate goal for our classroom would be the acquisition of six educational reading board games, Hot Dots reading and math quiz cards with six pens, and numerous reading, writing and math classroom resources.
Students build math and reading skills and get instant reinforcement with these fun-to-use Hot Dots quiz cards! Kids just touch an answer with the special Hot Dots pen, and the pen tells them whether they are right or wrong.
Board games can teach important social skills, such as communicating verbally, sharing, waiting, taking turns, and enjoying interaction with others. Board games can foster the ability to focus and lengthen your child's attention span by encouraging the completion of an exciting, enjoyable game. The set of 6 board games includes one game for each critical reading skill such as fact and opinion, finding the main idea and numerous others.
Having hands-on educational games in the classroom would allow the students to be excited about learning in a variety of ways.
This will allow me to differentiate instruction and reach the needs of all of my learners.
There are so many ways that the learning tools will benefit our classroom! They will be a motivating and exciting way for students to extend their learning.
