My Students
I teach full day kindergarten in an Oklahoma school that values learning through the multiple intelligences. The students in my classroom come from a variety of social, academic and economic backgrounds. In spite of our differences, we are building a classroom community that embraces each member as we grow and develop. It is important to me that children leave with a community that values their own growth and learning, while understanding that we are all better when we learn firsthand from others and their experiences as they impact our own.
My Project
I teach at a school that values the integration of arts across curricular areas. For many children, this is their first exposure to the visual arts. The oil pastels, liquid water colors, water brushes, markers, sharpies and chart paper will give children opportunities to work with art materials in a variety of ways. The books will provide inspiration through the words and illustrations.

These supplies will help integrate the arts and give children an outlet to express their emotions while encouraging their creative thinking skills.
