Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a high need community which many times does not shelter them from the harsh realities of the world at such a young age. They come into my classroom with not only diverse needs, but also lack social and emotional skills. These students need love and support.
Many times my students come into school sad or scared because they don't have stability in their life.
Our classroom is their safe haven and their positive environment. These children have so much potential and passion. They just need everyone's support to get there.
My Project
We need Magna-tiles, building planks and STEM kits and more for a new executive play curriculum. They will be doing hands on activities and creating and solving problems. We also needs seat sacks for storage. These materials will help students do hands on activities. They will do purposeful play by designing, creating, solving problems, and most of all being engaged in their learning. The students will have center time to work collaboratively and design and create.
Using strategies for building and planning, students can use Lincoln logs, Magna-tiles, and other types of resources chosen here to create, and most of all be explorers of learning.
These students, who are not featured in this picture come to my classroom to be future leaders, they need to have a growth mindset and the ability to create through exploring.
