My students need a puppet theater and puppets that will enable them to practice Spanish.

Students at my school take Spanish three to four times per week. As a language academy, our goal is for students to develop proficiency in all aspects of a foreign language: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Particularly in K-2 language classes, speaking and listening play a critical role, as they are involved in nearly every activity.

Did you take a foreign language in middle school, high school, or college? Did you ever face anxiety about speaking? Puppets and role-plays can help students feel more comfortable about speaking Spanish.

Having puppets will help my students feel comfortable, particularly those who find Spanish more challenging or whose first experience with Spanish is in my classroom. Students can practice vocabulary presented in class or create their own dialogues. The puppet stage will allow students the opportunity to perform their dialogues and stories in front of one another, other classes, or their families. In addition to helping first-time Spanish speakers feel more at ease, the puppets can also enable heritage language students to practice more sophisticated language structures in small groups.
