Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school in Nevada. The school is able to offer 100% free breakfast and lunch to all of our students. As a teacher, I noticed that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to keep things engaging and provide my students with an exciting, meaningful learning experience.

My kindergarten students are energetic and curious kiddos and are looking forward to a great school year.

Eighty-six percent of my students are second language learners and have never been in school.

My Project

So much of my students' learning comes from being able to play and use their imagination! I introduced alphabet puppets this year to enhance our distance learning and the students absolutely loved them! They ask for them every day and they have been a great accessesories to make learning fun in this unconventional time.

Using puppets in my lessons will enhance learning experiences for my students.

It will also be a way to encourage my English language learner students to practice their expressive and receptive language skills while having fun. Theater and play are the foundation for early childhood. Thank you for supporting our classroom!
