My students are inquisitive children who are ready for learning! Many of them have never been in a classroom before. Kindergarten is a year where they learn what school is all about. They grow socially and academically throughout the year. We build the foundation for their future.
In Kindergarten, I want to build a love for learning.
This experience will set a precedent for the rest of their school years. I want students to learn that school is a safe place where they can take risks and grow.
Kindergarten students come to us ready to learn. It is important to allow students to learn through play. I would like to use a puppet theater for students to practice storytelling and retelling stories that we read!
Stories can come to life with the use of these materials.
Puppets motivate even the shyest children to tell stories. They are fun and allow students to work on expression, as well as, speaking skills. What better way to retell a story?
I believe that these materials would help students grow in oral language skills. This will transfer over in reading and writing as well.
