Help me give my students a chance to engage in reading in a musical setting. Using the puppets and drums to excite and engage students will highten their learning and reading skills.
My students are excited to come to music class and see what activity they get to do next. They love to read stories and sing along. Play along videos make it fun to incorporate music story books and songs into the classroom. They are having so much fun while grasping musical elements and attaining performance skills.
My students come from a rural area and arrive ready to learn.
They have many different learning needs that books and puppets would help meet. My school is the smallest in my district and can tend to be overlooked when it comes to supplies. I'm ready to use all the avenues I can to get those suplies they need to be successful.

My Project
The books in my project are fabulous stories to use with my elementary students and are catered to their interests. The stories include topics such as instruments, animals, silly tales, the orchestra, and more.
My students will be highly engaged in story time using the puppets and drums to keep the beat.
Sounds stories and movement will involve students by having fun and learning to read at the same time. Using these materials will improve their sound sequencing, phrasing, timing, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
The colorful puppets will not only introduce reading skills, but also musical skills that my students will not forget!
